Many connoisseurs consider this pattern, first created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Twelve different motifs portray a 19th-century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.

Limited Edition Size = 35

SIZE: 12.75in L X 12.75in W Multicolor

The Rothschild birds may be the most famous Herend birds but there are many other avian beauties in the catalog that deserve their time in the spotlight. With the Birds of Herend tray, rarely seen bird motifs have flown their coop in the Herend archives and are presented in stunning detail nestled among vivid scenes of flowers and foliage. Adding to the rich presentation are gold fishscale details and faux-bois handles that mimic the birds natural home.

Herend Chinese Bouquet originally created in 1930 in raspberry coloration for Count Albert Apponyi, the pattern features a center motif of a stylized peony surrounded by a garland of leaves with 24K gold rosettes.

Herend China Queen Victoria Garden Coaster Set Of Four
Trimmed in 24k gold
4 inches dia.

Herend is a sound investment in hand-painted art, but not the sort to admire from afar. Its durable hard paste porcelain body and dishwasher-safe attribute make it a breeze to enjoy.

There's a 20% Restock Fee for all Herend Orders as they are special orders.

Queen Victoria Pattern:

The original set, introduced in 1851 at the First World Exhibition in London, was purchased by Queen Victoria herself. Subsequently named for her, this Chinese-influenced pattern demands the skills of Herend's most talented and experienced painters.

Queen Victoria dined on it, and Princess Diana delighted to it in her annual Christmas stocking. Now it’s time to savor a special Herend experience of your own.

Brush your fingers along Herend’s smooth white porcelain body and hand-painted designs, and sense the passion of great sculptors, master painters, and visionary designers imbued in every piece they lovingly craft. Intended for use and enjoyment as well as artistic appreciation, Herend’s durability and ease of care ensure it fits perfectly with your lifestyle.

Herend holds a rich history spanning many years, crossing many oceans and charming generation after generation to enjoy worldwide acclaim as the pinnacle in supreme porcelain, also known as “white gold.” Now the biggest porcelain manufactory in Europe, Herend was founded in 1826 in the small village of Herend, Hungary to produce pottery.  In 1839 a major turning point occurred when Mor Fischer became the manufactory’s new owner. Taking Herend in an entirely new direction, visionary Fischer carved out the unique niche of producing dinnerware replacement pieces for Europe’s royal families to complement their valuable porcelain patterns from Germany and the Far East.

Fischer engineered a string of royal successes that quickly put Herend on the map and led to the next phase of Herend’s growth when manufactory artists began designing dinnerware patterns of their own. Queen Victoria’s 1851 purchase of a large set for Windsor Castle was a milestone, setting the stage for aristocrats throughout Europe to clamor for Herend in their estates.

HOME ACCESSORIES

Herend home accessories dazzle in detail. With painstaking care, artists hand-pierce and hand-weave every openwork box, basket, bowl, and plate. Finials and delicate flowers are adroitly shaped by artists’ dexterous hands. Every beautiful motif takes form at the touch of an artist’s brush delicately stroked across a white porcelain background, until a fine piece of art is born before their eyes. There’s no place like home, and there’s no finishing touch like Herend.

CARE
All L’OBJET collections are made with exceptional materials, and with proper use and care, will last for generations. When needed, L’Objet wood pieces may be hand washed with cool water with a non-abrasive soap using a soft sponge. Always dry immediately with a soft cloth. To preserve the beauty and finish of the wood, periodically recondition with vegetable or food-safe mineral oil using a soft cloth. Remove oil from metal parts, allow the oil to stand on the wood for 1 hour, then remove any excess oil with a paper towel or soft cloth. Never put wood pieces in the dishwasher, soak in water, expose to direct sunlight or high temperatures as this will cause the piece to warp and crack. Wood pieces are not oven or microwave safe. Avoid using sharp or serrated knives as they may scratch the finish.

L’OBJET aspires to offer designs for the home that are both luxurious and functional, to the highest degree of excellence possible. As a young and successful Hollywood interior designer, our founder Elad Yifrach was frustrated by the limited options available to him. So, in 2004, he started the company, based firmly on a commitment to artistic integrity and material innovation, to produce objects that integrated beauty with design. The techniques we use set L’OBJET apart from all others. They are entirely our own. Take, for example, the Byzanteum Collection. To achieve such extraordinary texture, we create a plaster mould so intricate and refined it can yield a maximum of only 15 pieces, compared to the Fine porcelain standard—reliant on a less articulated mould—of 150. Similarly, the masterful hand-application techniques and complex layering of different golds that allow us to achieve such brilliance are unheard of in the industry.
