A magnificent new fishnet design premiers on Herend’s classic rooster, a commanding figure designed by Sandor Keleti in 1924. For the first time in Herend’s 182-year history, a harmonious medley of fishnet colors is composed in concert to create a synchronized fishnet symphony. The product of 17 craftspeople, each rooster requires 19 hours to paint. Herend’s traditional single-colorway fishnet design first took shape in 1874, when an artist was inspired by a Chinese plate’s fish scale design and replicated it onto a rooster figurine’s breast to imitate feathers. In keeping with tradition, Herend again chose a rooster to model the unprecedented symphonic fishnet design.

Did their flamboyant, gregarious nature come first or did their vibrant pink feathers? Either way, roseate spoonbills are known equally for their colorful, unusual appearance (that large spoon-shaped bill) and their very social behavior. The artists at Herend have adhered to a faithful rendition but have naturally added distinctive Herend touches with a sparkling platinum fishnet pattern combined with meticulous details on the feathers to draw deliberate attention to this defining part of the spoonbill.

Herend China Rothschild Bird Green Border Triangle Dish 9.5"L

9 1/2 inches long
Herend is a sound investment in hand painted art, but not the sort to admire from afar. Its durable hard paste porcelain body and dishwasher-safe attribute make it a breeze to enjoy. Each piece is unique and motifs vary. Rothschild Bird Green Border is a lush design featuring the highly recognizable bird motif framed by tiny individually hand painted rich green fish scales outlined in 24-karat gold.
Many connoisseurs consider this pattern, first created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.

Herend Seahorse Shell Compote
Limited Edition Size = 150
With echoes of caryatids, the draped female figures used as columns in ancient Greek architecture, Herend's sculptor has created a compote supported by three elegant seahorses with draping as well - albeit with a pattern alluding to the intricate armored plates that cover their bodies. Once this piece was given to the painting studio, the artists added to the story by decorating each seahorse in a slightly different fishnet color palette reflecting their maritime home. To complete the beautiful scene, the clam shell's core is painted in shimmering pearlized paint with the outer shell in a blue that pulls the whole exquisite composition together.

This striking elephant is a replica of an antique figurine depicting an elephant carrying goods along the silk road. The silk road was an interconnected series of ancient trading routes stretching from China to the Mediterranean Sea. The silk road not only served as a means of moving precious commodities back and forth but was also significant for bringing new cultural influences. This Pink Elephant figurine certainly demonstrates this Eastern influence through its highly ornate decorative style including the dramatic rug on its back. The figurine was reissued from the Herend archives to commemorate the Manufactory’s 180th anniversary.

L’OBJET aspires to offer designs for the home that are both luxurious and functional, to the highest degree of excellence possible. As a young and successful Hollywood interior designer, our founder Elad Yifrach was frustrated by the limited options available to him. So, in 2004, he started the company, based firmly on a commitment to artistic integrity and material innovation, to produce objects that integrated beauty with design. The techniques we use set L’OBJET apart from all others. They are entirely our own. Take, for example, the Byzanteum Collection. To achieve such extraordinary texture, we create a plaster mould so intricate and refined it can yield a maximum of only 15 pieces, compared to the Fine porcelain standard—reliant on a less articulated mould—of 150. Similarly, the masterful hand-application techniques and complex layering of different golds that allow us to achieve such brilliance are unheard of in the industry.

Amphora Incense Holder
We travel to escape the ordinary. And of the many impressions we take away from our journeys, it is the sense of smell that leaves the greatest impact on our memory. L’OBJET presents a collection of aromatic expressions created from natural oils and essences, blended and poured by hand. Experience Parfums de Voyage. The essence of discovery.
